What to pack for a retreat (and what to leave at home)
A short, honest list from our hosts, plus the three things nearly everyone forgets.

Packing for a retreat is mostly about leaving things out. You will wear the same few soft layers all week, and nobody will notice.
The essentials
- Two or three outfits you can move and sleep in
- A warm layer for early mornings
- Swimwear, even in spring
- Walking shoes you have already broken in
What to leave behind
Laptops, unread work documents and the idea that you should be doing something productive. We provide mats, blocks, towels and good coffee.
The things people forget
A refillable water bottle, a notebook and earplugs for shared rooms.
